Originally established in 1934 as an officers’ mess, The Inn on Officers’ Garden invites all Calgarians to experience its unique charm. With a rich history and a commitment to genuine hospitality, The Inn offers more than just a visit; it provides a comforting retreat that encourages guests to return time and again.

1934 – A Place for Officers

Built from brick and with a quiet purpose, The Inn began as an officers’ mess. It served those who served, offering a ceremony without show. Formal dinners. Shared stories. The sound of polished boots on hardwood.

1950s-60s – Royal Visits & Daily Rituals

The lighting was warm. The ceilings were high. The welcome, unwavering. Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip were received here before her coronation, but it wasn’t just for royalty. Every day brought new stories, new reasons to gather.

1990s -A Pause in Time

As CFB Calgary was decommissioned, many buildings on the base were lost to time. The Inn could’ve faded, too. But it remained intact, beloved, and patiently waiting.

2000s–Today – Restoration with Purpose

Instead of repurposing the space, its soul was preserved. Original fireplaces, curved ceilings, and heritage woodwork remain, now joined by boutique hotel rooms, elegant dining spaces, and gardens designed to gather.

PARKING

The parking lot is presently closed for upgrades.
Both Bishop Way and Dieppe Drive are available for public parking.  Parking is available at Clear Water Academy, 3910 Quesnay Wood Dr SW, Calgary, AB T3E 8G1.  A bus will be looping from the Officers’ Garden to Clear Water Academy every 10 minutes.   Parking at Clear Water Academy is free.
